The Louvre Puts Entire Art Collection Online

The World Famous and most visited museum in the world, the Louvre, has made seeing its massive collection easier for everyone by putting the entire collection online.  More than 480,000 pieces of art can now be viewed by art lovers around the world for free from the comfort of their own computer or smartphone anywhere in the world.  The museum contains vast collection ranging from Islamic art, Renaissance sculptures, Egyptian antiquities and painting from around the world, including the famous “Mona Lisa”, “Venus de Milo” and “Liberty Leading the People”.

"Today, the Louvre is dusting off its treasures, even the least-known," Jean-Luc Martinez, the president and director of the Louvre, said in a statement. "For the first time, anyone can access the entire collection of works from a computer or smartphone for free, whether they are on display in the museum, on loan, even long-term, or in storage.”
