SpaceX has bought two massive offshore oil platforms and is having them converted into offshore launch platforms and landing platforms.  The first, named Phobos, was towed from Galveston, TX to Pascagoula, MS and work is being done by ST Engineering Halter Marine & Offshore Inc.  Elon Musk said the other offshore platform, named Deimos, is under construction already and could begin service next year.

SpaceX already operates two offshore landing pads, including “Just Read the Instructions” and “Of Course I Still Love You”.
