Microsoft Announces Non-Subscription Office Suite For 2021

During Microsoft’s announcement about its upcoming exchange server and Microsoft 365, the tech giant based in Redmond, WA said it plans to release a non-subscription based one-time payment version of the company’s popular Office suite of products.  The current model, Microsoft 365, forces users to subscribe to an indefinite annual payment in order to have access to Microsoft’s suite of products, something that has had many users complain about consistently.

Microsoft went to a subscription based service, in part, because of the rampant fraud and pirated software where some estimates put piracy losses for Microsoft in excess of $100 million a year for just Microsoft’s Office Outlook.  The one-time charge for Office should be available in the second half of 2021 according to Microsoft.
