Tesla Car Crash Kills 2 In Spring, No One Was In Driver’s Seat

Overnight a Tesla Model S crashed in Spring, near the Woodlands subdivision of Carlton Woods at 18 Hammock Dune Place and burst into flames, killing both occupants, neither was in the driver’s seat.  According to police and emergency responders, one person was in the front passenger seat and one was in the back seat.  

Constables of Precinct 4 said it appears the car was operating in self driving mode and failed to identify a curve and make the turn and ran off the road and into the trees.  After impacting the trees, the car’s batteries burst into flames and 28,000 gallons of water was needed to put out the car fire according to the fire department.
