Amazing View Of ISS Passing In Front Of The Sun

ISS passing front of the Sun

Last Friday the International Space Station (ISS) passed in front of the sun while NASA Photographer Joel Kowsky was able to capture the event.  At the same time, two astronauts were on a spacewalk outside of the station.  This image is a composite of seven images as the ISS sped by at roughly 18,000 mph.Kowsky said on Twitter, “Transits are challenging to photograph.  They happen fast and require getting the timing, camera gear and weather conditions to all play nice.

The two astronauts, NASA’s Shane Kimbrough and European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet were outside the space station doing a spacewalk are not visible in the picture but they are indeed I the picture.
