The small west Texas town of Iraan has been forced to close all of the schools, businesses and city buildings after almost half of all area residents test positive for Covid-19.  The towns only Hospital, Iran General Hospital, has no more free ICU beds for Covid1-9 patients and has been sending them to out-of-state hospitals according to the hospital’s CEO, Jason Rybolt.  People are waiting for bed sometimes more than 36 hours said Rybolt.

The Iraan-Schffield Independent School District has suspended all classes and close schools after opening just five days ago after about 25% of the staff and almost 20% of students had Covid-19.  Virtual classes will begin August 30.  Not even the school’s football team is practicing or competing.
