United Airlines has partnered with Google to launch a new feature that will help travelers with cabin fever find a place to fly to and visit. After answering a couple basic questions like interests or preferences, it will search for flights to destinations with those you selected and that have the lowest Covid-19 infection rate and for the lowest price.
Many selectable options are for outdoor sports, art, weather, beaches, etc., and the fares listed start with the lowest price in basic economy. Using Google’s fight search tool, United’s new feature also allows you to not select a specific day, instead finding when the flights are cheapest. The airline, along with all the other carriers, are trying to find ways to lure passengers back into the sky as flight load factors still remain low and the number of flights remain below 50% of what they were a year ago at this time.
United said they do have pretty good demand for outdoor destinations and places where its was to social distance such as national parks and beaches.
