Netflix Raises Prices For Both Streaming Plans
Online video streaming giant Netflix has announce that it will be increasing prices to both the standard HD and premium subscription plans. The price for standard HD will now be $13.99 a month and the 4K premium plan will be $17.99 a month while the basic plan remains unchanged at $8.99 a month. The new prices took effect for new subscribers on Thursday and for existing subscribers the increase will roll out over the next two months and customers will be notified of the increase via email and in-app notifications.
Netflix is the largest online video streaming platform and beats the more expensive HBO Max easily in the number of subscribers. HBO Max has struggled along with other content-limited providers who only stream content specifically from their network or brand such as Disney while Netflix streams content from anyone it can in addition to its own originally created content.
